Peppermint oil is another great oil to have at home as it is so versatile. It is an excellent digestive, it helps the respiratory system and circulation. It is an anti-inflammatory and an antiseptic.

These qualities make it a good oil in the treatment of digestive upsets – a tummy massage with a peppermint blend can ease indigestion and flatulence, calm nausea and travel sickness and improve a sluggish digestion.

It can also help fight cold symptoms, when used in an inhalation, as the oil acts as an expectorant to help alleviate coughs and clear sinuses.

If you get tension headaches you can use peppermint oil as a safe and effective treatment instead of reaching for some pills.

This oil makes an effective insect repellent and can also be used to help soothe mosquito bites and other skin irritations.
